Welcome!
As the United States of America celebrates her 250th birthday, we thought it an appropriate time to re-introduce the July Jubilee. Each Sunday night in the month of July at 6 PM, Our church will assemble next to the flagpole at the Boundary County Library where we will lift our voices, and sing about our Savior and rejoice in the freedom He has given to us. Then we will open the Bible and bring a message on the topic of liberty or freedom. Our purpose for hosting this meeting is threefold: first of all, we wish to express our gratitude openly and publicly to the Lord Jesus Christ for the freedom that he has given us. Through his death, his blood that he shed on the cross, and his resurrection He has purchased ultimate freedom for every man who will receive it, and that is freedom from the bondage of sin.
Secondly, by doing this we are exercising our civil liberties. We will be exercising our freedom to assemble, our freedom to worship God according to our conscience, and the freedom to proclaim the truth of God’s word. The freedom from sin that we have through faith in Jesus Christ is a constant, however, not every person who has this freedom lives in a nation where they are at liberty to proclaim it openly, publicly, and without fear of retribution. By exercising these liberties we hope to both show our gratitude for our nation and help preserve this freedom for future generations.
Finally, we are hosting this meeting in an effort to exhort our fellow citizens to recognize that ultimate freedom is not granted to us by our government, but by our God. The greatest oppressor of mankind is sin. True freedom is not the liberty to pursue self interest, true freedom is the liberty to do what is right. Only Jesus Christ has the authority and ability to liberate us from the power of sin in our lives, and we hope through these series of meetings to challenge those of you who have never received this freedom to do so, and to challenge those of you who have been liberated from your sin to use that liberty to do right and to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ boldly.
